This is my storytime blog! I hope that you find it useful to your planning. I do storytime twice a week at my local library, for preschool and two year-olds. I absolutely love my job and am very blessed to be doing what I love every day!

*For this, I have a pumpkin with velcro pieces on it. I will ask the kids what the pumpkin needs to see, smell, or eat with. Then I will put up the wrong items on the pumpkin a few times until I get the right shape.
Book: How to Build a Haunted House
Fingerplay: Hungry Pumpkin
*I have no idea where I found this, but here goes! I start out with an orange pumpkin and tell the kids that the pumpkin is hungry. What will happen if I feed the orange pumpkin a banana? I have pockets on the back of the pumpkins so I can tuck the food into the pocket, out of sight. At the end, I feed my pumpkin an orange to turn him back to normal. A cute twist on this is to feed your pumpkin an apple and turn him into apple pie! Or a turkey leg and turn your pumkin into a turkey for Thanksgiving.

Book : Dear Zoo
*For this book I've made a large version of it, because the board book is very small to read. I put the animals on one piece of paper, then made the boxes on another piece. I 've placed velcro on the pages so that I can put the boxes over the animals and then pull them off easily. After I've read the book I put the pages back together to use again next time.
