Up and down, up and down.
The waves in the ocean go up and down,
Al through the day.

Crabs…pinch, pinch, pinch
Sails on the mast…swish, swish, swish
Cannons on the ship…boom, boom, boom
Fish…jump up and down

Fish are swimming,
Fish are swimming,
In the sea, in the sea.

Whale of a Tail

Opening: If You Want to Hear a Story, Clap Your Hands

If you want to hear a story, clap your hands! (repeat twice)

If you want to hear a story, if you want to hear a story.

If you want to hear a story, clap your hands!

Book: Bear & Hare Go Fishing

Fingerplay: Five Little Fishies Swimming in the Sea

*Because this was an outside storytime, I only did 3 fishies. I also made large fish for my co-workers to hold up as we did the actions. Below is a picture of my fish!

Book: Pirasaurs!

Fingerplay: Ocean Animal Movement Cards

Book: We're Going on a Treasure Hunt

Closing: We Wave Goodbye Like This (Tune: The Farmer in the Dell)

We wave goodbye like this,

We wave goodbye like this.

We clap our hands for all our friends!

We wave goodbye like this.

We wave goodbye really fast,

We wave goodbye really slow.

We turn around and take a bow,

And then it’s time to go!
