All Around the Yard

Seven little, eight little, nine little grasshoppers.
Ten little grasshoppers hopping all around.
Grasshoppers, grasshoppers, hopping all around me. (Repeat three times.)

Fingerplay: Wishy Washy Song (Tune: London Bridge)
The cow jumped in the mud, in the mud.
The cow jumped in the mud, now he's dirty.
Extra: Pig rolled, duck paddled.
I added this line:
Who do we call to wash the animals? Mrs. Wishy-Washy!
The cow washed in the tub, in the tub, in the tub.
The cow washed in the tub, now he's clean.
They all jumped in the mud, in the mud, in the mud.

*For this I have my puppets with brown "mud" spots on them. When the animals get "clean" I will magically wash the mud away. I like to have my volunteer dress up as Mrs. Wishy-Washy, which the kids adore!
