Opening: If You Want to Hear a Story
Book: Bunny Slopes
Fingerplay: Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed
Flannel: Snowman
*For this activity, I have a snowman up on my flannelboard, but he is missing arms and a hat. So, after I ask the kids what my snowman needs, then I add something silly to my snowman to get a reaction out of the kids.
Book: Flubby Does Not Like the Snow
*I was so excited to read this book and I even had a cat puppet that I used. The kids weren't very interested in this book at all, but I still love the book!
Fingerplay: Snowman Hat Colors
*I don't have the words for this, but I would change out the hat of my snowman. Then I would ask what color it was and we would do actions to go along with it. For instance: Snowman, snowman, hat so yellow. Jiggle around like a happy fellow!
Action:
There’s something in the snow, now what can it be?
There’s something in the snow that I can’t really see.
Hear it’s funny sound…
*In the past, I've had different animal sounds pulled up on my phone, to play through my bluetooth speaker. This really adds excitement and I always use puppets!
Book: The Mitten
*My favorite thing to do is have small clipart of each animal in the book. When all of the animals go flying out of the mitten, then I throw out all the clipart onto the kids. They go bonkers!
Scarf Dancing: London Bridge
