J is for Jump

This week is the letter J is for jump.  Below are the books I read (for all three storytimes-preschool, two's, lapsit), fingerplays and crafts we made.

Book: Nuts Keep Rolling

Book: Pouch

Book: Elephants Cannot Dance

Book: If You're Hoppy

Book: Roo Knows Blue

Fingerplays:

Clap, clap, clap your hands.
As slowly as you can.
Clap, clap, clap your hands.
As quickly as you can.
Continue:
Stomp your feet
Stretch your arms

Fingerplays:

Ten little kittens, standing in a row.

They bow their heads to the kids just so.

They run to the left, they run to the right.

They run real fast and then real slow.

They run real high and then real low.

Along comes a puppy dog, looking for some fun.

Woof, woof, woof!  Away the kittens run.

Fingerplays:

Walking, walking, walking, walking.  Hop, hop, hop.  Hop, hop, hop.

Running, running, running.

Running, running, running.

Now we stop!  Now we stop!

Continue: Stomping, stomping….
