Book: There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick
*The kids really got into this book and loved helping me flap my wings like a chicken every time we read that line. A great book for this theme!
Fingerplay/Flannel: Hippity-Hop, Hippity-Hay
*I forgot to grab my flannel Easter bunnies for this great hopping fingerplay, so we used Easter eggs! It ended up working out wonderfully, and I think I'll do this from now on for Easter! To see the words for this wonderful fingerplay, check it out here.
*The kids loved this book! Everybody got up and started dancing without me asking them! A great movement book and it fits in wonderfully at Easter.
Fingerplay/Flannel: Easter Egg Guessing Game
*I used the clues inside this book and made a guessing game for the kids. I found a really cute flannel egg for a dollar, and took clipart of all the items I was describing. Then the kids could tell me what I was talking about and I would pull them out of my egg. The kids didn't enjoy this as much as I had hoped, but I still think it's a really fun guessing game.
Book: We’re Going on an Egg Hunt
*This is a wonderful new Easter book and the kids loved it! We used puppets during this and the best part of the book is when the wolf shows up at the end and surprises everyone!
Fingerplay/Flannel: Seven Eggs
*I ran out of time to do my seven eggs storytelling, but it's always a great one to use!
Today's craft is the Easter bunny in a carrot car! We found the idea for this fabulous craft here!
