Preschool Storytime:
Fingerplay: Animal Sounds Match-Up
*For this I made a dog, cat, frog and duck along with the sounds that they made out of clip art. I placed them up on my flannelboard, but I didn't have the right sound placed beside my animal. Then I asked the kids if I had everything matched up correctly. They went crazy telling me what I had wrong, and it took a couple of tries before I got it correct.
Book: Duck Soup
*This book is so much fun to read, especially with props. I like to have my volunteer beside me with a soup pot and strainer. As I'm reading, I will walk over and scream as I'm looking in my pot. Because Max's friends think he's fallen into the soup and all the vegetables they discover inside the pot are his body parts! So I have paper vegetables that my volunteer will pull out of my strainer as I'm screaming, but then the kids will quickly correct me and laugh at me, telling me that's only a carrot or potato. Not Max the duck!

Book: Pete the Cat Five Little Ducks (Use puppet stage with ducks)
*This is one my favorite books to use with our puppet stage. I have five ducks that are propped up behind me, and as the story goes along, one of my ducks swims away! The kids went crazy screaming and hollering when each duck disappeared.
Fingerplay: Ten Little Froggies (Only do five and use five green and speckled frogs prop)
One little froggie goes hop
Along comes another and they just can't stop so...
Two little froggies go hop, hop
Along comes another and they just can't stop
Three little froggies go hop, hop, hop
Along comes another and they just can't stop. soo
Continue in this manner and end as follows
Ten little froggies go hop, hop, hop, hop hop
Drop! time to stop
Hop each time you count the froggies...and when you get to ten hop ten
times and count on fingers...fall gently down to floor
