Funfest storytime @ Kids Central

For those of you who aren't familiar with my area, we have a yearly celebration called Funfest.  This year the library was asked to do a storytime at a kids event and it was so much FUN!!  I got to be up on the stage that everyone performs on and do a condensed storytime.  I was a nervous wreck but loved and hope to do the same next year.

Book: Five Little Monkeys Reading in Bed

*Everyone really got into helping me make the sounds that go along with this book.  I don't think I've ever used this in storytime before, but I definitely will use it again!

3 little monsters shiny and bright,
Were waiting on their supper tonight.
1 little monster said "I'm too hungry to wait!"
So he grabbed a "strawberry" and that's what he ate.
*For this I made monsters that were white on one side and a different color on the other.  I made food to "feed" the monster and turn him into the color of the food he ate.  A fabulous friend of mine let me use this fingerplay, so credit goes to you Chrysalis!
