Fingerplay: 5 Green Apples (Feed apples to puppets.)

Farmer Brown had 5 green apples, hanging on the tree.

He plucked one apple and ate it hungrily.

Leaving 4 green apples, hanging on the tree.

*Continue until no apples are left.

Fingerplay: Here is a House
Here is a house built up high (Hands over head to make roof.)
With two big chimneys reaching for the sky (Raise arms up high.)
Here is a window (Draw a square.)
Here is a door (Pretend to open door.)
If we look inside (Peek through fingers.)
There's a mouse inside! (Scamper fingers away.)
*I did this with all the hand actions, then I took a mouse finger puppet and hid inside my hand.  When I got to the last line, I had a mouse on my finger!

Four little bunnies, so fluffy and alive, another bunny came along and that made five.
Five little bunnies, ready for some fun.  They all hopped away in the warm summer sun.

*I didn't do this, but next time I read this I plan on using some props.  Because the dog in the story loves getting new shoes out of the box and chewing on them.  I think it'd be cute to have some shoe boxes stuffed with tissue paper to use throughout the story.

The cow jumped in the mud, in the mud.
The cow jumped in the mud, now he's dirty.
Extra: Pig rolled, duck paddled.
I added this line:
Who do we call to wash the animals?  Mrs. Wishy-Washy!
The cow washed in the tub, in the tub, in the tub.
The cow washed in the tub, now he's clean.
They all jumped in the mud, in the mud, in the mud.
They all jumped in the mud, now they're dirty.

*For this I have my puppets with brown "mud" spots on them.  When the animals get "clean" I will magically wash the mud away.  I like to have my volunteer dress up as Mrs. Wishy-Washy, which the kids adore!
